We are delighted to announce our partnership with Sheffield Theatres will return for a third year in 2026/27, bringing drama, storytelling and live theatre experiences to pupils across our primary schools.
Since launching in 2024, the partnership has given pupils opportunities to work with professional theatre practitioners, develop their creativity and confidence, and experience live theatre and cultural opportunities across Sheffield.
The programme also brings creative experiences directly into schools. Last year, the talking playground transformed familiar outdoor spaces at Woodlands Primary School through location-triggered audio, encouraging children to explore their surroundings through storytelling and imagination.
Teachers also benefit from working alongside professional artists and educators to develop their own creative practice, while end-of-year performances give pupils the opportunity to showcase their work to families in professional theatre spaces.
The partnership is sponsored by Sheffield-based estate agent Blenheim.
Paul Blackburn, Managing Director at Blenheim, said:
Giving children the opportunity to do things that wouldn’t always be part of the curriculum is so important.
Experiences like this help young people grow in confidence and support their wellbeing, which is why we wanted to get involved.
The 2026/27 programme will get underway across our schools this academic year, with pupils taking part in workshops, immersive storytelling, playmaking and performance opportunities.
