Young Creatives programme returns for 2026

Pupils across our trust will display their artwork in a public exhibition at The Gage Gallery, Kelham Island Arts Collective, as part of Mercia Learning Trust’s Young Creatives programme.

Young Creatives is an important part of our trust’s wider commitment to serving our communities. Visitors can bid for artwork through an online auction, which will run for around a month from the opening of the physical exhibition. All proceeds from the auction will support Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

The exhibition will open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October 2026 and will feature 20 original artworks created by pupils.

The exhibition provides an authentic creative space where pupils can share their work with the wider community and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.

The venue’s location in the north of Sheffield is also convenient for pupils from the newest school to join our trust, Mercia Northridge School, making it easy for them to visit the exhibition alongside their peers.

Families visiting the exhibition with young children can enjoy lino printing activities inspired by Pride of Yorkshire and jungle scenes. The sessions will be led by King Ecgbert School Sixth Form students.

This year’s programme has been kindly sponsored by White Rose Visas.

More details on the exhibition and auction coming soon.
