King Ecgbert School Expansion

This trust is working closely with Sheffield City Council on the proposed permanent increase in student numbers at King Ecgbert School.

The number of students in the King Ecgbert School catchment has exceeded the Year 7 Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 193 for several years. To accommodate students, school has temporarily expanded to 210 students in Year 7 for several years.

Nevertheless, catchment student numbers continue to remain high, and will further increase when 30 additional Totley Primary School students (as a result of their phased expansion, which began several years ago) require a secondary place from September 2023.

In partnership with Sheffield City Council, who hold responsibility for school admissions, we propose to permanently increase the Year 7 Pupil Admission Number (PAN) from 193 to 240 from September 2023 onwards, subject to approval of capital grant funding for expansion of the current accommodation on site.

A formal planning consultation about the proposal will begin soon led by the Local Authority.

Consultation on the PAN change begins on Monday 9th May and ends on Monday 13th June 2022 at noon.
