Colleagues from across our trust came together in February for ‘Our Trust in the Future’, our annual staff conference dedicated to strengthening the quality of education and care for every child in our trust.
The day featured a wide programme of professional learning for all staff. Colleagues took part in work on teaching and learning, literacy, subject development, sensory needs, behaviour standards and effective communication. Classroom-based staff collaborated in phase and subject groups, while associate staff engaged in specialist training focused on the needs of the children they support. This collective investment in shared learning strengthens expertise and consistency across our schools.
We were honoured to be joined by two inspiring keynote speakers. The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Safiya Saeed, and Lord David Blunkett shared powerful reflections on education, ambition and community, setting a purposeful tone for the day.
The conference opened with a celebration of creative work from the Sheffield Inspires project and closed with the presentation of this year’s Mercia Star Awards, recognising colleagues who go above and beyond for children across our trust.
By creating time for all staff to learn, reflect and refine practice together, we continue to invest in the long term success of every child in our care.
