Experience

Director of Place and Civic Engagement at Sheffield Hallam University since May 2017.

Over 30 years of experience working in central Government. Until 2017, worked as a senior Civil Servant in the Department for Education. Worked in a wide range of roles, both policy and delivery. Operated at both the national and regional level, working on a wide range of education and wider social policy. Whilst working in North West led the implementation of policies across the region to support social inclusion.

Experienced stakeholder manager. Managed sensitive relationships with Ministers, special advisors, key external stakeholders and wider Whitehall colleagues. Experience of delivery in a complex political environment.
